Transforming Lives Through Improved Public Service
From policy influence, public-private partnerships, capacity building, to amplifying the voices of reform-minded leaders, in 2024 we witnessed firsthand how our work is transforming lives and improving public service delivery across Nigeria.
The success stories emerging from our alumni highlight how our programmes equip leaders with the tools to deliver real-world results, from improving public healthcare systems to fostering economic growth. A notable example is that of Mr. Abraham Oludolapo, whose groundbreaking reform project has established a standard framework for addressing sexual harassment within the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Today, over 400,000 corps members receive annual enlightenment on sexual harassment, fostering a safer environment and ensuring proper disciplinary measures when cases are reported.
Our collaboration with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) resulted in the successful digitalisation of key processes within the office leading to a reduction in manual processes, reduced paperwork, faster turnaround times for approvals, and improved data management. This streamlined approach has enhancesd operational efficiency in the OHCSF and is now being implemented across all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) with many MDAs already commencing their digitalisation journeys. By facilitating the development of a digitalised, more transparent, and responsive public service, we are ensuring that Nigerians benefit from a government that is more efficient, accountable, and attuned to their needs, fostering greater trust and citizen satisfaction.
The mandate of SERVICOM, which stands for Service Compact, is to ensure that Nigerian citizens receive quality service from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). To support SERVICOM's important role in public service regulation, we partnered with them to enhance the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) capabilities of its staff, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to . assessMDA performance, identify service gaps, and drive improvements in public service delivery. This will ultimately contribute to a more efficient, accountable, and citizen-centric public service.
We partnered with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, to launch the Civil Service Culture Handbook, establishing a new standard for accountability and integrity across the Nigerian public service. OAdditionally, or Civil Service Excellence Award, which recognises the country’s most outstanding federal civil servants, not only celebrates exceptional service but also inspires increased commitment and a culture of excellence across the civil service.
